Councillor fears cost to dump rubbish will rise under contractor

"COUNCIL-OPERATED rubbish tips at Coldstream and Wesburn are to be run by a private contractor in a bid to improve services and efficiency." - Leader.

As usual these tender arrangements are Commercial in Confidence, council would have accepted a tender price for the 10 year operating term for the transfer stations, these funds must be returned to ratepayers in the way of tip passes or like to off set any increase in charges.

If increases occur you can bet more rubbish up our back roads and Hard Rubbish collections which does not make for a user pay scenario.
