Resolved unanimously at last night's Yarra Ranges Council meeting...."That Council approve the allocation of $2.7 million from the Future Community Projects Implementation program to the Warburton Mountain Bike Destination Project".........
On 19 December 2017 Council submitted an application to the Federal Government’s Building Better Regions Fund Infrastructure Projects stream for $3 million for the delivery of Warburton Mountain Bike Destination Stage 1. The program guidelines sought matching funding of $1 for $1 for projects submitted to the program. Council submitted a letter of evidence committing that Yarra Ranges Shire Council would contribute $2.7 million. Upper Yarra Community Enterprise (Warburton and Yarra Junction Community Bank Branches) have also committed $300,000 to support Council’s $2.7 million to achieve the $3 million matching funding required. On Monday 16 July 2018 the Federal Government advised that Council’s application to the fund was successful in receiving the $3 million requested.
