Climatic impacts of undersea volcanic eruptions 2019
This paper is well worth a read. ....
https://drive.google.com/open…
Thank you to a Geologist acquaintance for the Imperial ENGINEER Autumn 2019 paper.
Climate has always changed throughout Earth’s geological history. The present study is another investigation of a submarine volcanic eruption causing regional ocean warming as a cause of climate change over and above anthropogenic carbon dioxide, in true scientific tradition.
(Anthropogenic definition is - of, relating to, or resulting from the influence of human beings on nature.).
The recent eruption of 5 cubic Kilometers of basalt magma onto the Indian Ocean sea floor at a temperature of around 1000 C will have significantly warmed the Indian Ocean and it would appear caused the positive Indian Ocean Dipole which has had a significant impact on recent East African cyclones and flooding and East Australian dry and associated fires.
It will be interesting to see how follow up research develops the apparently plausible hypothesis.

Warburton Mountain Bike Destination (WMBD) UPDATE
At the end of 2019 the Warburton Mountain Bike Destination (WMBD) Project achieved an important milestone with submissions being made to State and Federal environmental regulators.
These submissions will enable the regulators to assess the potential impacts on the environment and ensure appropriate measures are in place to protect it.
The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) have now accepted the Environmental Effects Act referral. As part of this process DELWP has published the referral on their EES Referrals web page.
Many months of work has been carried out in the hills surrounding Warburton with specialists conducting field work, studies and assessments to ensure the WMBD delivers not just a world class mountain bike experience, but also sets the bar for environmental and heritage stewardship.
These reports are now available on the Ride Yarra Ranges website. Also the referral and reports are on DELWP's Environment Effects Statement web page.
Mt Beenak Telstra Mobile/Data Tower Outage
FURTHER UPDATE. ....
Telstra website - Mobile data, Mobile voice Intermittent service within highlighted area - To be confirmed when service will be restored. Telstra this is just not good enough! Some areas with no service since 30th December 2019.
Mobile Phone/Data Coverage in the Little Yarra Valley and beyond.
Today I've asked Senior Yarra Ranges Council Officers and the office of Hon Tony Smith MP Federal Member for Casey to investigate this continued Outage and for the restoration of this vital communication service.
I view this as a very serious matter now that we’re in the fire danger period and especially the Gladysdale, Three Bridges, Gilderoy and Powelltown communities with no Community Alert Siren and limited ABC Emergency Radio coverage, now have no Mobile coverage.
