Yes Ms Allan is the Premier but how will the Labor Party Caucus handle her pledge and more so the Greens.

I never have and never will support the establishment of a Great Forest National Park.

"The establishment of the proposed Great Forest National Park will add negligible value to that already generated by the existing Parks and State Forest with regard to the achievement of outcomes in Council’s Health and Wellbeing Strategy and Recreation and Open Space Strategy. The establishment of the proposed Great Forest National Park will not create any additional open space nor will it add additional recreational opportunities.

The establishment of the proposed Great Forest National Park may see limitations placed on some existing recreational activities."

Voting in the Yarra Ranges Council O'Shannassy Ward election this October will be by post.

The Victorian Electoral Commission VEC will post ballot packs to enrolled voters commencing Monday 7 October 2024.

The ballot pack will contain:

*** a ballot paper

*** O'Shannassy Ward candidate statements

*** a ballot paper envelope (for your vote to go in)

*** a reply-paid envelope (for your ballot paper envelope to go in)

*** a leaflet with instructions in other languages

Completing and returning your vote:

*** Follow the instructions on the ballot pack and make sure your completed vote is in the mail or hand-delivered to the election office, Silvan Public Hall, 271 Monbulk Road, Silvan before 6 pm on Friday 25 October 2024.

*** Local mail clearance times vary. Check your local mail clearance times so your vote is in the mail on time.

'GETTING STUFF DONE' - Jim Child for O'Shannassy Ward Yarra Ranges Council - VOTE 1 in October.

I have announced today that I will be a candidate for the Yarra Ranges Council O’Shannassy Ward election to be held in October. 

As your fulltime Councillor it has been an absolute honour and privilege to serve and represent the communities of the Upper Yarra over the past twelve years, serving as Mayor for three years.

During those 12 years, investment in the O’Shannassy Ward has been the best we’ve ever seen, roads to community infrastructure build, footpaths, bridges, recreation reserves & pavilions, with much more still to be done, in particular Wesburn Park, Warburton, Yarra Junction and also finalising the Yarra Junction Place Plan then the YJ Township Design Framework, a project I instigated earlier this current Council term.
