Councillor Child's Urgent Motion to Council.
SUMMARY
This motion is urgent because of the serious road safety issues arising from the recent popularity and increasing visitations to the Redwoods Forest, Cement Creek Rd, East Warburton.
RECOMMENDATION.
Moved Councillor Child. Seconded: Councillor Hennan.
That
1. Council requests that the Director of Environment and Engineering in conjunction with Parks Victoria, Victoria Police, VicRoads and the Department of Environment, Land, Water & Planning take immediate action to resolve the untenable road safety issues resulting from tourist visitations to the Redwoods Forest, Cement Creek Road, East Warburton.
2. The Director of Environment and Engineering investigate the cost and options for the sealing of Cement Creek Road from Warburton Woods Point Road through to the bridge over the Yarra River and report this back to Council forum for discussion.
The motion was passed unanimously by Council.
