Yarra Ranges Council awards the tender for the construction of the Warburton Community Recreation Precinct. .......
Works are anticipated to commence on Stages 1 & 2 (all stages) in July 2019.
At tonight's Council meeting I was very pleased to move the motion to award the tender for the construction of the Warburton Community Recreation Precinct from Warrandale Industries Pty Ltd for the total price of $2,795,487.55 exclusive of GST ($3,075,036.31 inclusive of GST).
The aim of the project is to construct the Warburton Community Recreation Precinct to provide the public with a new recreational area complete with a Water-Play playground, foot paths etc.
The Recreation Precinct will offer a unique play experience for all ages with an emphasis on younger members of the community. As well as the Water Play there will be Picnic facilities and other play spaces.
The lawn will be kept as an open space and will be used for events as well as providing more usable spaces for the community.
This redevelopment and construction will include the demolishing of the existing disused swimming pool, pool infrastructure, playground area and fencing.
The awarded construction amount is within the allocated project budget identified in the draft Capital Expenditure Program for 2019-20.
Works are anticipated to commence in July 2019 with a period for practical completion of 200 Master Builders Association of Victoria (MBAV) calendar days.
