The Gio Della Donna group did approached Council, the advice they received from Council's Infrastructure Services Traffic Engineering team was that liaison support from emergency services was required in addition to consultation with the surrounding community on proposed detours for the event. To the best of my knowledge and on receipt of an email Sunday night from the Warburton Fire Brigade that proponent consultation has not taken place. Yarra Ranges Council has NOT given approval for the closure of the Brisbane Bridge for this private function and has advised the proponents that such application is denied based upon concerns raised by emergency services.
