The Warburton Film Festival is one of the biggest events in the Upper Yarra each year, drawing hundreds to the town over a weekend with its spectacular program. The Warburton Film Festival is returning to town for its 36th year with a packed program of international and local movies to be screened from 14-16 June.
The festival, held at the Arts Centre in Warburton, will feature an opening night event on Friday, 14 June and eight films made across the world, along with the Show Us Your Shorts film competition screening.
Yarra Ranges Film Society President and event organiser, Sally Ahern, said this year’s program featured films made in the UK, Australia, Mauritius, Lebanon, Japan and Palestine.
“In the 36th year of the festival, we are delighted to screen these films to both new film goers and those who have attended before – we extend a warm welcome to all,” Ms Ahern said.
“We’re again presenting the Show Us Your Shorts program and, during the Saturday afternoon entertainment, the winners of the four sections will be screened.
“The entries for this competition show a great variety of topics by the innovative film makers – it’s a session not to be missed.”

Applications for Yarra Ranges Council’s Grants for Community 2020 funding open on 1 June, with information and preparation workshops to be held throughout June.
